ALPS Swiss Alpine Museum

On a clear day, take a walk from Casinoplatz over the Kornhausbrücke bridge and the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau are close enough to touch. Turning right immediately after the bridge, the ALPS Alpine Museum of Switzerland offers rooms for celebrations, conferences and meetings.

Uniting tradition and innovation: The Swiss Alpine Museum, located just an eight-minute walk from Bern’s main station, uses unconventional approaches to address current issues affecting mountains around the world. The museum addresses the Alpine world in all its facets. The past is examined just as much as the present, and controversial topics are also broached that raise questions and stimulate discussion.

Working, celebrating, musing and laughing are permitted at the Alpine Museum, too. The museum’s venues can be rented for private events, including outside of regular opening hours. The salon conference room, the Hodler hall as well as the "las alps" restaurant (which serves delicious Alpine cuisine, of course) offer innovative spaces for discussions, meetings, workshops or festive dinners. How about finishing off your event with a guided tour of the world of Swiss mountains?

There are 1,500 kg of wood at the Alpine Museum waiting to be split into shingles. Visitors can – or rather should – roll up their sleeves and get involved to help "shingle" the entrance of the museum using a centuries-old tradition for Alpine and mountain huts.
