One day after the Emmental Young Wrestlers’ Day, the seasoned athletes take to the sawdust at the Emmental Wrestling Festival on July 6, 2025. What is usually a peaceful green meadow will be transformed into a bustling festival ground with a marquee, bars, and of course, the iconic wrestling arena with its traditional sawdust rings. The wrestling week reaches its climax on July 13, 2025, with the Bern Cantonal Wrestling Festival. That’s when the very best of the Bernese “Bösen”(top Swiss wrestlers) compete in Switzerland’s national sport. Can Fabian Staudenmann defend his title for a third time, or will a new champion rise?
