On the move in Bern
Bern’s size makes getting around extremely easy. There are numerous options to get to your destination quickly and comfortably: on foot, by tram, bus or taxi
Travelling by public transport
Buses and trams
Bern’s public transport is so well designed that you can explore the city stress-free. The dense network of trams and buses transports you to all important sights and excursion destinations in no time.
Bern Ticket
The Bern Ticket is valid for your entire stay, starting from your first night spent in an accommodation in the city of Bern. It allows you to use all the buses and trams in the Libero fare network for free. Good to know: the Bern Ticket also includes the popular Gurten and Marzili funiculars as well as the lift to the minster terrace.
Use the öV Plus App (public transport app) to quickly find the best connections and book the right tickets. We know that each person has their own individual travelling habits, so the app can be adapted to your personal needs.
Travelling on foot
Exploring Bern on foot
Due to its size, Bern’s city centre can easily be explored on foot. Your hotel is probably just a leisurely stroll away from the sights, the quaint alleys of the old town or the green banks of the River Aare. By the way: Don’t let a rainy day deter you – the six-kilometre-long stretch of arcades in Bern’s UNESCO-listed old town will keep you sheltered while you look around.
Our city tours are just as varied as Bern itself! Here’s an overview of all our city tours.
