The picture shows the famous Zytglogge (clock tower) in Bern, Switzerland. It is a busy street scene with historic buildings on both sides leading up to the tower. The tower is decorated with a large clock and ornaments. People walk along the street while the shops in the arcades are illuminated. The scene looks festive and lively, with a cosy evening atmosphere.

Your apprenticeship at Bern Welcome?

  • Two apprenticeships per year

Training young professionals is important to us. Each year, we offer two apprenticeships as certified commercial employees (EFZ) in the hotel, gastronomy and tourism sector – with or without a vocational baccalaureate.

  • Support during the apprenticeship

To help apprentices achieve their goals, experienced vocational and practical trainers support them throughout the three years – always ready to offer advice and guidance.

  • Variety through diverse insights

Our apprentices complete three exciting, varied and instructive years in the commercial field. They rotate through several departments and get to know the diverse facets of the tourism sector. Curious to learn more? Watch the video below – planned, filmed and edited entirely by our apprentices themselves.

  • Apprenticeship taster afternoon

Would you like a closer look at our apprenticeship programme? Twice a year – in November and May/June – we offer a taster afternoon. If you’d like to join, please sign up early at hr@bern.com, as space is limited.

  • Applying for an Apprenticeship

Whether you’ve already joined us for a taster afternoon or not – we look forward to your interest in an apprenticeship at Bern Welcome. Applications for apprenticeships starting the following year are accepted from June onward. To apply, it’s important that you enjoy communicating confidently in German, French and English (minimum grade 5 at secondary level), enjoy working with people, are well-organised and like to take on responsibility. Does that sound like you? Send your full application – including CV, motivation letter (or video, collage, etc.) and school reports from the last four semesters – to hr@bern.com.
