Finance & banking
Bern is home to numerous institutions and associations that play a key role in shaping Swiss economic and monetary policy, making the city the perfect location for an event on finance and banking.
As a political centre, Bern plays a decisive role in national as well as international monetary and fiscal policy, not least because important institutions such as Finma, PostFinance, the Swiss National Bank and the Federal Department of Finance, which keeps watch over federal finances and steers Swiss financial market policy, are based in the federal city. Around 20,000 people work in over 1,400 companiesin Bern’s finance cluster.
The University of Bern is also actively involved in the field of finance and banking: Business Studies, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, and Communication and Media Studies are taught and researched at its Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences, and the different departments study micro- and macroeconomic processes, phenomena and challenges as well as questions of society and the state.
Whether you prefer one of the two five-star hotels Bellevue Palace and Schweizerhof Bern & Spa or the modern infrastructure at the convention centres of the Bernexpo and the Kursaal Bern: the federal city has the ideal venues for events in the financial sector. The Bern Convention Bureau supports event organisers during the entire process and makes sure that nothing gets in the way of a successful event.
