Reto and Alexandra Invernizzi from Landgasthof Kemmeriboden Bad - honoured as "Hoteliers of the Year" in 2022 - are also at the source of sparkling ideas at the source of the Emme: They ensure innovation and a feel-good atmosphere in the midst of nature at the sixth-generation family business in Schangnau.

“It is a privilege to receive guests at the place of one's roots - here, at the beginning of the world.”
Reto Invernizzi, host - about the unique location at the source of the Emme

Hotel Landgasthof Kemmeriboden-Bad lies nestled between green meadows and towering mountains in the idyllic Emmental valley. The tranquil surroundings of this family-run business, with the gurgling of the Emme river almost on its doorstep, stimulate the mind and foster creativity. Strength is certainly found in stillness.

Far removed from noise and stress, this lovingly restored hotel offers light-filled seminar rooms with comfortable furnishings and state-of-the-art infrastructure. Not far from Kemmeriboden, a newly built log cabin is also available, situated at around 1,130 meters above sea level in the midst of an impressive Alpine landscape. The cabin is equipped with the latest technology and is ideally suited for out-of-the-ordinary seminars.

Have you ever heard of the "Kemmeriboden Merängge"? The history of this delicate meringue goes back to the year 1939. Not wanting to throw away the surplus cream from the adjoining farm, experiments were made with the sweet white mounds until the delectable Kemmeriboden meringue was created. Today, this Emmental delicacy has become a beloved dessert among locals and visitors alike. The hotel serves Kemmeriboden meringue fresh from the oven every day – it’s definitely worth sampling!
