"Without Laupen no Bern, without Bern no Confederation" is a well-known saying that highlights the importance of the small town. The famous Battle of Laupen played a decisive role in the development of the city-state of Bern.

The region also has an international history. Did you know that many of Laupen's inhabitants left for America in 1850? And have you ever heard of the Freienhof?

Sad stories are also part of the tour. The murder boxes in the Käfigturm tower still bear witness to the child murderer Barbara Weber and the justice system in Old Bern. So there is a lot to learn and discover.
