The route starts at the Gurnigel watershed and leads over a challenging ascent on a trail that slopes slightly to the right to the Gantrisch cross-country skiing school course center. After a quick lap on the bull platform, another ascent leads towards Selibühl, followed by a rapid descent to the turn-off to the upper trail. There you turn right and climb directly onto the Chaltweh circuit. At the end of the gentle ascent, there is an easy descent through the forest. At the next junction, turn right uphill and deeper into the forest. The route now leads steadily up and down to the next junction, where you turn left into the somewhat steeper descent into the Chaltweh. After the short, steep descent, the route climbs steadily back to the first junction. From there it is a gentle ascent and a rapid descent back to the Gurnigel watershed.
