Brunch at Becanto
The Becanto Coffee & Brunch in the «Breitsch» (Breitenrain neighbourhood) emits the wonderful scent of ground coffee, fresh croissants and sweet cinnamon buns.

The cosy, laid-back and stylish Becanto is only a 15-minute tram ride away from Bern railway station. And if there’s one thing they know, it’s brunch: in 2023, they won the award “Best Brunch in Switzerland”. You can enjoy an extensive breakfast there every morning from Wednesday to Sunday. And if you’re loving the charming atmosphere so much that you don’t want to leave, stay for a round of mimosas and bask in the sunlight on the terrace.
Make sure to book a table early – Becanto is often fully booked. Once you’ve been there, you’ll know why!

Now on to the more important part: the menu. The food is not only exceptionally delicious, there are also plenty of vegan options. They serve classics such as avocado on toast and fluffy pancakes with different toppings, croissant sandwiches and colourful breakfast bowls are also on the menu. And if you’re super hungry, we recommend ordering a bun, a type of breakfast burger. In sum: this is breakfast heaven. But don’t forget to leave some room for one of Becanto’s excellent cinnamon rolls!
Good news: Becanto has opened a second branch called “Becanto West”. As the name suggests, it’s located in the western part of Bern – right next to the Inselspital.
The best thing to do after a lavish brunch is to go for a leisurely stroll. Luckily, the Rosengarten is just 15 minutes away, and a breathtaking view of Bern's UNESCO-listed old town and the smell of over 200 different roses await. The perfect place to round off your brunch experience.
