The Chrämerhuus cultural association presents a diverse cultural programme that is unique in the region. The programme covers the area between experimental minority culture and popular entertainment culture.

The Chrämerhuus Cultural Association was founded in autumn 1976 with the aim of offering a varied cultural programme in Langenthal for the population of Oberaargau and the neighbouring areas of the cantons of Aargau, Lucerne and Solothurn, as well as preserving the historically valuable Chrämerhuus property in the centre of Langenthal. Today, the Chrämerhuus is a historical landmark and cultural centrepiece of the town of Langenthal and the Oberaargau region. The operation of a cultural restaurant has been established and is currently enriched by the association with over 60 events a year, an alternative music culture, appealing exhibitions, top-class cabaret and an exquisite film programme.
