The Burgdorf municipal library has a stock of around 40,000 items. These include picture books, novels, non-fiction, audio books, DVDs, magazines and newspapers as well as a valuable collection of old books. The Burgerarchiv, which documents the history of the Burgergemeinde Burgdorf, is also housed in the same building.
