Bern webcams
Are the cherry trees at the Rose Garden in full bloom? Are the «Aareschwimmer» (Aare river swimmers) meeting up at Marzili? Is there snow on the Gurten already? Check these webcams to find out what’s going on in Bern right now.
Webcam Restaurant Rosengarten
The Rosengarten – an inviting oasis for picnics, sunsets, strolling, sunbathing, enjoying. And there’s no better place in Bern when it comes to views of the old town. With a bit of luck, you might even catch the cherry trees blossoming in spring. A steep path leads directly down from the park to the restaurant and brewery Altes Tramdepot. Below it lies the BearPark where, from spring to autumn, you can watch Bern’s three bears: father Finn, mother Björk and daughter Ursina. Don’t forget to dip your feet in the refreshing River Aare while you’re there. But please be careful – the water seems tranquil, but the current is treacherous.
Webcam Gurten
For most of the year, Bern’s local mountain, the Gurten, is a pretty laid-back, slow-paced place. It offers plenty of activities, both during the day and in the evening, as well as a breathtaking view of the federal city. Who will be the first to spot the Bundeshaus (Parliament Building) and the Bern Minster? In the summer, thousands of people make their way up the mountain for four days of open-air concerts when the Gurten Festival takes over – the event of the year!
Webcam Hotel Bellevue Palace
Located between the Bundeshaus (Parliament Building), Bern’s UNESCO-listed old town, the Marzili neighbourhood and the Zytglogge (Clock Tower), the Bellevue Palace Hotel offers a beautiful view of the city’s most famous landmarks. Is there snow on the Gurten? Are there people swimming in the River Aare? And, oh no, my tram is already crossing the Kirchenfeldbrücke bridge, gotta finish my beer! Speaking of trams: the use of all public transport in fare zones 100/101 of Bern’s public transport network is free with the Bern Ticket, which you receive when you stay overnight.
