Bergkönig – Swiss Vintage Cycling Festival

The "Gümmeler:innen" (cyclists) take over Burgdorf - in retro style. At the Bergkönig Festival, bikes that are no younger than 2000 cycle through the Emmental. However, the Vintage Cycling Festival is not only worth a visit for two-wheeler fans.

Participants can choose one of three different bike routes and pedal together with former racing bike stars such as Dufaux, Freuler, Wegmüller and Glaus on Sunday. From the more leisurely "Pedaleur de Charme" to the strenuous "Le Fou!" route, there is a suitable route across the Emmental for all levels.

The event is also a highlight for onlookers without vintage bikes. For example, the public prize for the most beautiful vintage bike will be awarded on Saturday, or the riders will present their bikes and matching race outfits at the parade followed by an after-work beer in Burgdorf. Also on Saturday, there will be a vintage bike market with jerseys, spare parts and complete vintage bikes for sale.

If you don't just want to watch, but want to ride along on your own vintage bike, you have to register. This is very easy to do on the festival website.
