Selibühl Panoramic Trail
This snowshoe trail is definitely worth the sweat: it starts opposite the Stierenhütte and ascends through the magical, snow-covered forests in the Nature Park Gantrisch. Once you reach the Selibühl, you can enjoy a wonderful 360-degree panoramic view. The view of the Gantrisch mountain range, the Jura and the snow-covered Alps is simply priceless. You can even spot lake Thun and the famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau if the visibility is good. To savour these fantastic views, we recommend you take a break at the Selibühl mountain inn on the way back. Our tip: this trail is perfect for snowshoe beginners.

Ober Altösch Trail near Trub
This snowshoe trail starts in the picturesque village of Trub which was named “Switzerland’s most beautiful village” by the magazine “Schweizer Illustrierte” in 2019. The trail starts at the old schoolhouse and leads past stately Emmental farmhouses and through the snow-covered Hüseren forest. All that physical exertion will probably make you hungry. The Alp Oberaltösch will take care of that. Here, you can dig into delicious Rösti, smoked sausages with potato salad or a classic «Chässchnitte» (bread with a melted cheese mix), and the jacuzzi will help you relax to the fullest and you’ll forget all about your tired legs (don’t forget to book in advance). After a final view of the Bernese Alps, you can start your descent to the Fankhusbach. As soon as you reach the stream, the path will lead you back to the starting point in Trub.

Obergurnigel Trail in the Nature Park Gantrisch
Only a short PostBus ride from Riggisberg, snowshoe enthusiasts can find true happiness in the Nature Park Gantrisch. Once you arrive at the Gurnigel Berghaus, you set off towards the fir forest and the Gurnigelberg alp. Accompanied by beautiful views and surrounded by beautifully quiet nature, you’ll quickly reach the highlight: the bench on the Obere Gurnigel. You can enjoy your picnic here and savour the magnificent view of the Gantrisch range, the Bernese Oberland and the Gürbe valley. Once you’ve got your energy back and filled your lungs with fresh air, it’s time to go return to the Gurnigel Berghaus and take the PostBus back to Riggisberg, your backpack filled with wonderful
