World Cheese Awards 2025

In November of 2025, Bern became the Capital of Cheese as it hosted the World Cheese Awards. The search for the world’s best cheeses took place over the course of three days in the Neue Festhalle at Bernexpo. Competitions, tastings and concerts provided entertainment for the 7,500 visitors of all ages. According to the organisers and a member of the jury, the event and Bern were “a perfect match”. UEFA Women’s EURO 2025

On 18 July 2025, Bern turned into a sea of red and white as over 250,000 people came together for a fan march to Wankdorf Stadium. The tournament left a lasting impression – and became a beacon for women’s football. 120,000 fans attended the four games at Wankdorf Stadium, and 100 volunteers contributed a total of 10,000 hours of work to make this major sporting event in the federal city a success.

SwissSkills 2025

From florist to automotive mechatronics technician to baker, more than 150 professions were represented at the 2025 SwissSkills Championships in Bern. Young professionals showcased their talents in front of over 120,000 visitors. The event was a great success, thanks in part to the support of the Bern Convention Bureau.


Herofest

For Herofest, the Bernexpo site transforms into a mecca for gaming, e-sports and nerd culture. The event has grown steadily since its debut in 2018 – in 2025, it attracted nearly 25,000 visitors.
