From 1891 until well into the 1900s, the "Kreuz", which dates all the way back to 1787, was run by the local Women’s Association as the first pub in the country that did not serve alcohol, as well as a busy town hall. In 2017, the stately historic building awoke from a long slumber, during which it had been renovated and modernized. The Kreuz Herzogenbuchsee offers a variety of great options and spaces for events. Be it the attic, which is almost nine metres high and a true masterpiece of local carpentry, or the “Amélie Moser Room”, the jewel amongst the Kreuz’s rooms, with its tiled oven in the Rococo style, beautiful parquet flooring, and stucco decoration on the ceiling.
The two historical Rooms “Stübli” (Parlour) and “Lesestube” (Reading Room) are wonderful settings for smaller meetings and other events. The large vaulted cellar hosts a broad range of cultural events and can also be used for workshops, conferences, and meetings – including drinks at the in-house bar after a long day of work.
