Chocolate Tours

Who could imagine a better theme for a tour of the old town than "Schoggi" (chocolate)? A delightful journey of discovery through the federal city takes groups from the Käfigturm tower down to Bern's Matte neighbourhood.

The tour follows along the footsteps of the chocolate manufacturers in the old town, walking you from the Käfigturm to the legendary Mattequartier. On the way, you will be enjoying various chocolate samples to enrich the stories told. At the end of the tour, you will hear the Bernese version of the story about melting chocolate which means you will be privy to the secret from the Matte. But afterwards, it’s the group that will have to decide if the city of Bern really is the chocolate capital or if that was just smart marketing.

Thanks to the arcades in the old town, the tours can take place regardless of the weather. Nevertheless, outdoor clothing and comfortable shoes are recommended.

In winter, warm drinks are served on the tour, and in summer, gelati will help you cool down. Other food combinations are also available on request.

Groups of up to 49 people can be accommodated if you hire a headset system.
