Die Führung

Switzerland’s capital is most famous for the Zytglogge (Clock Tower), the impressive Parliament Building and the BearPark with its furry inhabitants. But strange and scary tales hide in its alleys and behind the baroque façades. When digging deep into Bern’s history, you will discover exciting and surprising things that you can not find in any history book.

On this 90-minute tour, visitors will find out what connection the UNESCO World Heritage Site has with the seven deadly sins. Things like greed, envy, lust and gluttony are the inspiration for the tour of the lower Old City, as well as the “Lust and Vice” exhibition of the Museum of Fine Arts Bern and the Paul Klee Centre.

The tour guide takes the point of view of the former executioner. He talks about where he was allowed to go (his reputation was not very good) and what he had to do with Bern’s brothel, and knows incredible facts about the death penalty in Bern and medieval jurisdiction. The participants will also find out why he carried a special curling iron and why some people stood on the Monbijou bridge and observed the Marzili pool with binoculars. This interesting tour will surprise and entertain you and make you see the history of Bern and its inhabitants in a different light.

The legendary tour "Lust and vice - on the trail of the seven deadly sins" is also available with "Fübis" (after-work beer) and a snack.

The “(Guilty) Pleasure” tour is an unforgettable experience, whether you’re a local, a tourist, a visitor or you’ve just moved to the city.
