This route is for nature lovers: from Eichholz to the Auguetbrücke, the fresh scent of deciduous trees and the quiet babbling of the Aare immerse you in another world. In the middle of nature – yet very close to the city – the approximately 16 kilometer long stretch leads upstream. On the way back, you pass the Bern Zoo, BearPark, cross the Untertorbrücke and return through the charming Mattenquartier to the old town.

Attention construction: The Schönausteg will be renovated and dismantled from October 2024 until spring 2025. But don’t worry, 250 meters downstream there is a replacement footbridge over the Aare.
