Langenthal Municipal Theater
With over 100 years of history, the Stadttheater Langenthal (Langenthal municipal theatre) is one of Langenthal’s central cultural institutions. Not only does it host numerous guest performances and events in the large auditorium and in the new Theater 49 each year, it is also open to clubs and com-panies.

The theatre is an important Swiss performance venue with two stages: the large theatre hall fits an audience of 400, the multifunctional Theatre 49 has space for about 100 guests. A broad spectrum of productions from all facets of the performing arts invites the audience to dive in, experience and enjoy. Along with drama, musical theatre, concerts, cabaret and productions for children and young people, the programme increasingly includes dance and contemporary circus arts. You will also find a wide variety of events by regional and national organisers.
With over 100 years of history – built between 1914 and 1916 – this magnificent listed building is one of Langenthal’s key cultural landmarks. The theatre was extensively renovated in 2017 and equipped with state-of-the-art technology. In addition to the two theatre halls, there are also various seminar and meeting rooms that can be rented.
