OldCapitol

For several years now, the OldCapitol has been considered one of the most beautiful clubs in Switzerland, known in particular for live concerts in a unique atmosphere.

For decades, the Capitol was a popular meeting place for film buffs in the Oberaargau region. After the last movie flickered across the screen, the lights at the old cinema remained switched off for a while. Then, the OldCapitol culture association was founded and set out to turn the old cinema into a concert and cultural venue, making it a meeting place once again.

Since opening on 1 September 2017, the OldCapitol has welcomed up to 25,000 visitors at around 100 events per season. The large hall and balcony offer space for a total of 650 people. In addition to the pop, rock, blues and hip-hop concerts, the programme also includes comedy, spoken word, book readings and other events.
