Spring is just around the corner and your balcony must be looking a bit empty – time to get some wild plants and fill it with some life.

Every year, the “Bärner Wildpflanzen Märit” transforms the Bundesplatz (Parliament Square) into a unique interplay between nature and city. Against the beautiful backdrop of the Bundeshaus (Parliament Square), you can see wild plants in their full splendour and visitors meandering through the busy market.

This year’s motto is night owls. Visit the nature conservation society Faunaberna and their specialists to learn more about the lives of nocturnal animals such as moths, hedgehogs, amphibians and beetles. But that’s not the only learning opportunity at the market: You can also dive more into what challenges these nocturnal animals when faced with humans and how you can create a gentle habitat for them in your garden.

And if you haven’t got your fill of plants yet, you might want to drop by the Graniummärit (geranium market) – it takes place the day after in the same spot and is one of the biggest and oldest events of its kind.
