The NIDO on the roof of Bern’s department store Loeb offers stunning 360-degree views over the rooftops of Bern’s old town and all the way to the Alps, toward Italy. And it brings some of our southern neighbour’s flair to the federal city: locals and guests from all over the world meet at NIDO to celebrate «la dolce vita» with a healthy dose of «italianità».

The NIDO kitchen

The restaurant serves «il meglio dall’Italia» (Italy’s best), with classics and new interpretations of Italian favourites from «polpo arrosto con funghi porcini» to «filetto di manzo Rossini».

The picture shows a skilfully arranged starter of fresh, juicy tomatoes, creamy burrata and aromatic herbs. The elegant black bowl highlights the bright colours and conveys pure elegance and moments of pleasure.

And their pizzaiolo makes the most wonderfully fluffy pizzas. The wine menu is a «Giro d’Italia» with wines from traditional, long-standing wineries as well as the bold new generation of winemakers.
