For one day, the federal city is turned into bicycle land, complete with challenges, obstacle courses, shows and more. A programme packed with countless activities and exhibitors provides fun for all ages. And an attractive range of refreshments is there to help recharge your batteries after a cargo bike race or a balancing competition. The traffic-free City Loop ensures carefree and safe to-and-fro in the city centre.

Looking for the perfect themed t-shirt? We’ve got you! Bern Welcome and Lino from druckvelo.ch will be present with a stand on Bärenplatz, where you can watch how your new favourite “Velööle” (riding around more or less aimlessly on a bike) garment is printed directly on site using a screen-printing bicycle There’s a selection of modern colours and designs to choose from that have been created especially for the occasion. Added bonus: while you’re waiting for your new tee, our Bern pros will be answering questions and providing tips for the diverse cycling region of Bern.

The day’s highlight is the grand bicycle parade, where you’ll see everything from stylish vintage cycles to sporty mountain bikes to practical cargo bikes. The parade begins at 1:30 p.m. on Bundesplatz and takes cyclists along a fixed route through Bern over a distance of around seven kilometres. If you feel more comfortable in a smaller setting, the Berner Rides are for you: discover the most beautiful routes around the city of Bern in a small group accompanied by a local guide. There are three categories – mountain bike, road bike and gravel bike – with different groups based on skill levels. Afterwards, we recommend a pit stop at Bärenplatz, where the experts from the bike shops introduce visitors to the latest trends and other bicycle-related topics.
