5 questions for Miduca

Published: 06.08.2025

This time, Yves Vonarburg answers our 5 questions. He shares what lies behind the name Miduca – and what connects the company to the Zytglogge.

Yves – Gábor from Bern Welcome nominated Miduca as the next Bern Connector in our “5 questions for …” series. He also passed along these coasters* with a Zytglogge motif – and a question: What does Miduca have in common with the Zytglogge?

Thank you for the nomination and the coasters – what a great question! A saying that comes to mind is: Keep up with the times – or you’ll be left behind by them.

What does that mean for us? At Miduca AG, we constantly develop new and innovative training topics and methods to meet our clients’ needs in a timely and targeted way.

Personally, I also take this saying to heart – it motivates me to keep learning and stay curious about new ideas.

Miduca might not be familiar to everyone yet. Could you briefly explain what Miduca stands for and what your role is?

The name Miduca comes from Migros and Education – and that’s exactly what we stand for. Miduca AG is the umbrella organisation for our educational partners: Migros Klubschule (focusing on languages, health and creativity), IBAW – the Institute for Vocational Education and Training in Business and IT – as well as two event and learning spaces: Tanzwerk 101 and Workspace Welle7, which includes the restaurant the flow. In short: a colourful bouquet of education opportunities.

I work in the Corporate Clients department, where I represent all our partners in the B2B sector.

Yves Vonarburg, Miduca AG

Yves Vonarburg has been working at Miduca AG since 2021. Before that, he spent five years at the Welle7 Workspace. His favourite project is the annual “Kids Camp”, which he organises – a week-long programme for employees’ children.

In your view, what’s the added value of the Bern Network – and how should it evolve?

As the name suggests, the Bern Network is about meeting new people and building meaningful connections. I enjoy the open exchange – challenging each other with ideas and launching joint, innovative projects that create value for all involved. Looking ahead, I hope the Bern Network continues to grow as a platform from Bern, for Bern.

Bern, I love you …

… Favourite place: The place itself doesn’t matter much to me – what counts are the people you share the moment with.

… Favourite activity: Playing football on Bern’s pitches

… Favourite word: The classic: “Aare”

And here we are at question number 5: who would you like to learn more about next in the Bern Network?

GastroStadtBern and the surrounding area.

Thank you so much for your time and your answers!
