"Tour de pain" Stroll through the old town with the Bernese Bread Sommelier
When the resourceful Bernese bread sommelier is not "aateiget" (arranging, instigating) a new bread creation in the bakery or performing other feats, he guides gourmets and connoisseurs through the streets of Bern's old town.

Patrik Bohnenblust, owner of the bakery "Bread à porter’" takes bread lovers on a culinary walk through the lower part of the old town on his "Tour de Pain", bringing his tasty bread creations to life along the way.
Participants will get to enjoy different breads paired with matching drinks in historical places and learn how the city fire of 1405 changed Bern’s bakery landscape and what parallels there are between the Junkerngasse (Junkern alley) and the Junkern bread.
A visit to the traditional and last old town bakery in the Münstergasse as well as fascinating insights into the Münstergass sourdough will round off the tour.
During the tour, Patrik Bohnenblust leads the participants through the Ankelaube and over the "Pläfe" (minster platform). While enjoying the enchanting view of the Aare and indulging in a glass of wine, he’ll explain how this fine drop is connected to Bern’s minster. And participants will realise just how much love goes into sourdough bread when they taste the popular Junker bread at the Geisterhaus (ghost house).
The "Tour de Pain" entices all five senses, tells exciting historical facts, and reveals secrets from Bern’s bread scene.
At the end of the tour, you’ll receive a souvenir from the bakery to take home with you – «à porter», so to speak.
The tour is also open to the public (only in German). The current dates can be found here.
