Restaurant Ringgenberg

The traditional Ringgenberg restaurant is located directly on Kornplatz. Affectionately called "Ringgi" by its regulars, it has long been part of the Bernese catering scene. Whether for a cosy coffee after shopping, moules and frites or a Mediterranean dinner, this is where locals and guests from far and wide meet.

Useful information

  • City of Bern

Many Bernese have made a tradition of visiting the long-standing restaurant Ringgenberg after a swim in the Aare river. The narrow, Baroque house next to the Grabenpromenade in the Old Town is a meeting place for a who’s who of guests, from both near and far. In a cozy brasserie atmosphere and casual setting, the restaurant serves both regional and Mediterranean cuisine. The house specialty “moules frites” (either “marinières,” “provençales” or “exotiques”) is one of the highlights of the Ringgi’s menu when in season from October to March.

During the summer months, the seasonal garden restaurant “Ringgi-Pärkli,” in the shadow of the Erlach memorial on the Grabenpromenade, is the place to be. Its creative Mediterranean dishes, salads and famous tatar make any day feel like a vacation. Guests can also simply enjoy a drink with tapas at the bar under the shade of the linden trees.
