Once the city’s granary, this architectural gem now houses a library, the Kornhausforum museum and two restaurants.

The Kornhauskeller was designed by Hans Jakob Dünz and impresses visitors with its imposing dimensions and splendid features. The main aisle and two side aisles are reminiscent of church architecture, lending the vaulted cellar a sacred air. And the unique balance between lines, repetition, lighting, artistic frescoes and modern furnishings make a visit to the Kornhauskeller an architectural experience as well as a culinary one.

The restaurant in the baroque building attracts guests with its high-class culinary offerings and exceptional ambience. All food is cooked with love and an emphasis on craftsmanship. The menu features Bernese specialities and hearty classics, with a focus on regional and seasonal products. To accompany the dishes, there is an impressive selection of wines from the in-house wine cellar.

The Kornhauskeller is divided into two floors: the restaurant is located on the lower floor, the bar on the vaulted cellar’s mezzanine level. This is where people meet for after-work drinks, a digestif after dinner, or a relaxed nightcap.
